Description
FORCED TO SELL DUE TO RELOCATION!!! Once in a lifetime deal. Seller is relocated and has no room for this beautiful piano. You won't believe this rare find. This beautiful 1881 Haines Brothers Square Grand Piano with original piano stool. It is serial #23162 manufactured in 1881. It has been appraised and labeled as fairly good condition with normal wear and tear. These pianos are examples of some of the finest cabinet work in piano making history. The pianos sound very similar to the early pianoforte of Mozart's era, with a tone that is best described as a soft, harp-like quality. Prior to the upright piano gaining popularity the square grand was seen as the instrument of choice in many fashionable homes. These pianos are found today in English Castles as well as historic landmarks throughout the US. When these pianos are fully restored they have sold for as much as $50,000. Haines Brothers was established in 1851. Since its establishment they have been one of the leaders in high grade and artistic pianos. The name Haines Bros. has been of powerful influence in the trade and commands a higher regard today than at any previous time in its history. They embody everything required in a high quality piano. These pianos were normally hand made with intricately carved rosewood, mahogany or ebony cabinets. The last known production of the square piano seems to be about 1885 due to the new popularity of upright pianos.
