This lovely inkstand was made in Germany by the well-known WMF Company circa 1900. It has been designed with a really unusual Art Nouveau pattern. The decoration bears intricate whiplashes and bundles of fruits and leaves inside a circle crossed by winding lines. The original 'Old Silver' finish plating is in perfect condition. The high quality metalwork is in excellent condition as pictured. It measures 15 ¼ long by 7 3/8 wide and 2 ½ high. It is fully hallmarked with the first impressed mark 'Ostrich WMF G', 'B' (best Britannia metal), 'I/O', 'OX' and numbered 325 in high relief and also marked to the internal lid '67 I/O' and '68 I/O'. The finely cut crystal liners are perfect. It is illustrated in their 1904 Catalogue on page 51 with the Nº 325, please see Catalogue picture enclosed. DIVINE!
