Description
Hopefully we'll make a new friend with our old Whale here... so FREE Shipping AND Insurance to all our fellow (crazy nautical) collector friends in the Continental United States of America ! Large Copper WHALE from (very large) Old East Coast Weathervane Approximately 40" in length (from memory as we have had her put up for a few years) A very nice antique piece alone without Weathervane - although has a shaft so it can be used as a Weathervane today. We purchased it many years ago on Nantucket Island from an antique dealer of local artifacts... it was so long ago that he nor his shop are there any longer.. the owner was sort of an Antique as well..  :) The Whale is hollow and approx. 7" or so thick or wide at the center and a little thinner at the tail. Please feel free to email me with any question or to let me know what we may do for you. We have a number of very unique and rare items currently listed that have come from years of family collecting the rare and unusual!  Please take a peak at our family's eBay store site (our version of an estate sale without all the strangers coming over the house.) About Us Our Family has been collecting Marine Art in all forms including Original Oil Paintings, Singed Limited Edition Artist Remarqued Prints, Hand-built Sailing Ships, Large Model Ships and Sailboats (never a Kit), Scrimshaw, Nautical  Antiques, and Classic Cars (along with a sufficient supply of spare parts) for well over 40 years.  We love and enjoy every single piece we own.  However, as a result of selling several homes, our area for display and enjoyment of our treasures has been decreased by nearly 14,000 sq. feet-  Therefore you will see listed by our family treasures which you normally would never be able to purchase at prices which are not only  realistic in a Buyers Market, but on the Extreme Low End-  below value in all cases.  We do not believe in "storing" Treasures such as these we are parting with- they are to be displayed and enjoyed! Most often we are in Birmingham, Michigan (small very nice town North of Detroit, MI) and always happy to hear from you. Very best regards,  Genevieve' and Family GenevieveLLC@aol.com            Contact Us With the wonders of 21st. Century communication we are available to answer your questions, send you additional photographs, or take care of anything else you would like to contact us about seven days a week by emailing:  GenevieveLLC@aol.com                     On Oct-12-08 at 09:58:42 PDT, seller added the following information:Sunday morning -  with so many eBayers watching this wonderful piece, it will be sold today and certainly cannot be replaced (I did price it rather on the low side... but we don't need it and are plum out of storage room toboot!   So I started looking for an outer box for it's shipping and realized it will probably be oversized for Priority Mail.  If it is, I will send it via UPS (which I dislike) or Parcel Post, insured.  Which ever is the best.  In any event, I am still paying the shipping and insurance.. not to worry :) Regards,  Genevieve'
