It measures about 12 by 16 inches (about 30 by 40 cm.), and is in FINE condition. This map is very detailed showing topographical features, counties, townships and ranges, cities and villages, Indian reservations, Army outposts, routes of old railroads and more. There are even a number of ghost towns on this map, no longer in existence today. Terrain elevations are shown in gorgeous reliefed hachures, and depths of coastal waters in isobars, as was the practice in 19th Century cartography and showing individual mountain ranges, passes and peaks together with altitudes above sea level. The entire map is surrounded by an engraved border, typical of finer maps of the period.
