The handle is jade but, as shown, it has been cut or broken at some time during its long life. I believe that a good lapidary could work on this if needed. The handle is approximately 2 inches long including the silver sleeve. The diameter of the tea strainer is a "tad" under 3 and 1/4 inches.  The depth of the bowl is approximately one inch. The design is delightful with Birds and Flowers. In a few months it will make a great stocking stuffer!    Please read all the information before bidding CONDITION:   This VINTAGE SILVER TEA STRAINER WITH BIRDS & FLOWERS PLUS JADE HANDLE is in the condition that it was found and has not been cleaned because I know that serious collectors like to see the original patina. Buying this item in the condition that it was found allows the collector to see its  authenticity.  When cleaned it will shine in all its glory. The silver part is in very good condition but as described above the Jade handle is broken or has been cut and may need some work. Because of this I am selling it below its true value.
