Up for auction is a reproduction of the RED JACKET, a clipper ship built in 1853 and named after an Indian chief of the Seneca tribe. This vintage model stands approximately 11 1/2" at its tallest and is 14" long.  It's made of wood (deck), plastic (textured to look like canvas sails), cloth (flag) and string (rigging).  It stands on a wooden base (with felt bottom) with the ship's name affixed to the front.  There are no markings on the item regarding manufacturer, etc.  The RED JACKET has been sitting on the top shelf in my father's bookcase for over 25 years.  I'm certainly not an expert, but the ship (except for the dust) appears totally intact.  I'll leave the cleaning up to the buyer!  Neat item for the collector!  Please email if you have any questions......and thanks for looking!
