Back "Hopf" Violin - No Reserve' Description  Up for auction is a 1800s German antique full size 1 pc curly maple back "Hopf" violin for repair/restoration. The tastefully flamed 1 pc. curly maple back measures 13 7/8 by 7 13/16 inches. There are no bassbar or soundpost cracks on the violin. The scroll and pegbox are in good shape and the neck is solid. There are no open seams. The fingerboard is ebony. The neck had been repaired at one time and all repairs are stable and holding. The violin is stamped "Hopf" on the back and has a label that reads "Adolph Spicker, Dealer in and Repairer of Musical Instruments, Cincinnati, O.". Please check pics. and email questions.
