eclecticmuseum Store - ANTIQUE OCEANIC CEREMONIAL PADDLE A very rare Museum Quality Authentic Antique Oceanic leaf shapedceremonial war paddle made of a dark brown hardwood rising from arounded shaft, and flaring to an elongated tear shaped spatulateblade, each side carved in low relief with a characteristic for thisregion face of typical elongated form with large sagittate nose,circular eyes, and crescent shaped lips, the finial of the shaftbountifully carved with the head of an Alligator. The paddle was madeby very primitive stone tools, as determined by the irregular marksleft on the surface of the wood. Condition: The paddle is in goodcondition except for the broken tip of the leaf. The wood has abeautiful old natural glossy patina. This Paddle had came from aToronto house which was there before WWII, this is the first time thatthe Paddle is being offered for sale. Due to the importance of thismuseum quality artifact we are posting without a reserve but with aminimum starting bid. We do not stop auctions or take any proposalsduring or after an auction.
