Description
This is a very rare old metal sign one of a kind the first cabin in Hannibal MO, where Mariah Bobb Masterson wife of Robert Masterson was the 1st white woman who took part in an Indian Raid. The Masterson name is very prominent throughout American history. The sign is very nicely done, there is a picture of the historical first cabin at the bottom. At the top it starts out, 1817 Site of first cabin, then underneath outlined in red Mariah Masterson 1793-1888 First white woman in Hannibal who took part in Indian Raid. It has a hole in the top center and the bottom center, where it was mounted on a post, there is a dark line on the back showing this. It measures 24 x 15 inches. It is made of a heavy steel, not flimsy tin. There are some rust spots on the front where paint is missing, and the sign has faded. The top and the bottom have a slight bend to them where it was hanging on the post. All in all in great vintage condition. No flaking paint. Check out the items pictures.
