The braided green and gold border and the 4 " matching fringe may not be original to the piece. It has been as seen for as long as I have owned it.Framed and covered in protective glass, I can see no fading or any other damage. I have taken it out of the frame but,it remains hanging on a golden rod. The background color is a lovely green, not quite but,almost chartreuse.The central round wreath is so beautifully detailed that it is amazingly three dimensional.The colors are beige ,sand,cream and chocolate.The central field is cream. On this are fabulous open rose like flowers in lilac with plum and yellow centers,red and yellow with brown accents and sage with olive,gold and yellow.The vibrant green leaves are done in bright kelly green,forrest green,olive,and celadon,with brown and gold veining. The outside circle is decorated with gold, beige,cream and light brown leaves.The colors work beautifully together .They are bold but not garish. I can't say enough about how skillfully and beautifully made this vintage piece is.The creator was a true artist. The back is covered with a green and gold silk stripe.Large green and gold tassels which match the braid and fringe hang on either side of the tapestry. Place a Bid!
