egalili Store UNIQUE SYRIAN ARMOIRE ~ excellent condition! Armoire is unique and handmade with micro-mosaic Mother of Pearl and Ivory Marquetry with intricate Art Deco design and patterns and includes two crystal mirrored doors. Reputed to have been made in Syria for a rich man as a wedding present for his daughter; the two crowns on the headpiece on top of the armoire possibly represent the bride and groom. Estimated Age: Early 1900’s Dimensions:  Assembled Armoire, consisting of three sections (not including the crowns) : TOTAL Height: 2.51 meters; Width: 1.39 meters; Depth: 55 centimetersHeight: 8 feet 3 inches; Width: 4 feet 6.5 inches; Depth: 1 feet 10 inches Section1- Base chest with two drawers:                HEIGHT: 42 centimeters; WIDTH: 1.39 meters; Depth: 55 centimeters.Height: 1 feet 4.5 inches; Width: 4 feet 6.5 inches; Depth: 1 feet 10 inches  Section 2- Armoire with two crystal mirror doors:                 HEIGHT: 1.65 meters; WIDTH: 1.39 meters; Depth: 55 centimeters.Height: 5 feet 5.5 inches; Width: 4 feet 6.5 inches; Depth: 1 feet 10 inches Section 3- Headpiece including two crowns                 Dimensions of Headpiece only:                 HEIGHT: 35 centimeters; WIDTH: 1.18 meters; Depth: 2.5 centimeters.Height: 1 feet 2 inches; Width: 3 feet 10.5 inches; Depth: 1 inch Price:  US$ 15,000 (Fifteen Thousand US Dollars) – excluding Shipping and Insurance costs. Valuation: Seventeen years ago, in September 1990, Christie’s East, New York, assigned a pre-auction estimate of $10,000 to $15,000.   Condition: The Pearl and ivory marquetry are in very good condition - complete, with no missing pieces; the crystal mirror doors are in excellent condition.  The inside of the Armoire consists of back and side mahogany Panels with a mahogany plywood divider; the inside of the back panel is braced- as the armoire is used to hold, on its two wood closet poles, heavy coats and clothing and also because the Armoire sits on an 125 year old stone floor which is not even. The two doors are hung with two metal hinges on each door; when Armoire is placed on a level floor some small adjustment will probably be necessary for the doors to fit perfectly (by a little sanding or shaving of their edges).  Note: The Armoire could be set into a recess in a wall - without the sides- so that the beautiful front columns and doors are visible - and used as a cupboard.    Shipping and Insurance:Shipping by air, including Insurance in amount of $15,000, has been estimated, by a major iternational shipping agent, at approximately $3,500 from origin to the USA or Europe; shipping by sea, including insurance, estimated at approximately $2,000. All shipping and insurance costs; customs and duties, if any, are the responsibility of the Buyer.                   Armoire is presently located in Israel and will be disassembled.               Payment of Purchase Price:  To PayPal or money order; funds to be received by the seller prior to release of the Armoire for shipment. Please feel free to ask any questions.
