FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ONLY. BEAUTIFUL NEW 38"(long) x 32"(tall) x 13"(wide)" WOOD HANDCRAFTED MODEL SHIP WITH COPPER HULL The model is handcrafted from scratch by skilled craftsmen and built according to scale of the original ship, through original plans or pictures using plank on frame construction. The hull is joined by multi-pieces of dry thin wooden bar together. Inside the hull a special glue is used which helps thin wooden bars stay close to one another and not split, crack or twist when the weather changes. The construction method is entirely by hand and it takes hundreds of man hours to finish. THIS MODEL SHIP CANNOT BE COMPARED TO LESS EXPENSIVE MODELS OF CONSTITUTION.  IT IS A PREMIUM MODEL SHIP. Only the highest quality woods like rosewood, ebony, blackwood, mahogany and teak are used in building all my model ships. In general, this is how the following woods are used:Ebony (for blocks and small details) English Sycamore (for the hull)Rosewood (for the hull)Blackwood (for the hull)Mahogany (for the masts, squares, crow nests)Cherrywood (for the deck)Canons, muskets, anchors and other tiny details are made of metal (for decoration)Sails and rigging lines are made of linen.  The flag is made from material not plastic. USS CONSTITUTION - 1797 On March 27, 1794 - President George Washington signed an act to provide a naval armament. As a result of this act, ships were built to defend the young American nation. The contract for one of these ships, to be named the CONSTITUTION, is given to the shipyard in Boston, Massachusetts. She was named after the historic American document and both the document and the ship have proven to be resilient symbols of America's strength, courage, and liberty. Having remained part of the U.S. Navy since her launching day, the CONSTITUTION is today the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. She has been repaired through the years to her full glory and retired to Boston, where she remains today, beginning duty as "America's Ship"-representing our proud Naval heritage and all those who have fought so gallantly to preserve America's freedom. In 1997 she sailed under her own power for the first time in 116 years outside of Boston Harbor and six of her sails were used. SHIPPING CHARGE SHOWN IS FOR THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ONLY.  INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED THROUGH PAYPAL ONLY. THIS IS NOT A TOY AND MUST BE KEPT AWAY FROM CHILDREN. The ship comes crated and then boxed.  The shipment weighs about 90 pounds and the box measures approximately 48" x 48" x 24"
