From the photos you can clearly see that the mandau’s sheath is made of wood and attached with animals skin and animals bone. It also plaited with 3 extremely fine and superb rattan plaited knobs. At the back of the parang’s sheath – it attached with a tree bark pocket for putting the second knife known as carving knife ( see photos). It has a beautiful with lot of “ patina “ rattan belt. The mandau’s blade has extremely fine and awesome carved Dayak traditional motif, you can see the close up photos that shown very smoothly worn. It has thick parang’s blade. The mandau’s hilt is carved from Deer antler.. showing with amazingly and extremely fine carved with one of the most famous Dayak traditional NAGA motif.
