It gives the name to the Tlitalco Culture. This culture was influenced by the Olmecs, the first great culture of Mesoamerica. We are offering a 4 3/4" fragment of a scultpure made out of red clay terracotta. It has the typical Tlitalco doll face and stylized features. Purchased at a very good Estate Sale in Studio City, California. The original owner was a Hollywood film-writer and dramatist (I'll mail you the name on requrest) who, together with his wife travelled all over the world during the 1930's and 40's and purchased many sculptures and paintings during his travels. There is a scribbled sign on the back which says "Tlitalco" and also a foil mark of Casa Ramos, an antiques store in Lomas de Chatulpetec, Mexico.
