However, it is important to realize that we deal primarily in antique and vintage items that will often show varying degrees of age and wear (i.e. patina, nicks, dings, etc.).  We do our best to describe each item in detail, but we often do not overstate obvious signs of normal age and wear that are inherent in these items.. Because these items have led a prior life, there is also a strong possibility that some pieces may have been repaired in the past. We go over every piece very carefully and touch-up any problem areas, but if a repair was well-done, it is possible that it may not be detected. Please contact us with any specific questions. Wood pieces often experience some sort of cracking or warping due to changes in climate, hydration or dehydration. If they occur at all, they are usually minor stress cracks which are structurally insignificant and cosmetically appealing. Painted pieces will often show natural distressing from use and can often show a bit of age or separation as is normal in antique painted furniture. We will make every effort to point out and photograph extreme cases of distressing, chipped, worn or damaged finishes.
