The box itself is pretty old, but I can't say how old.  The handles on each side are probably replacements for the old ones, or they are the original ones, which someone replaced the screws in.It has burgundy paint on it, which I think was added also.  You can see it was originally put together with flat head nails on the bottom.  A piece of thin rope is used to keep the top from falling all the way back.  It measures 19 3/4"L x 9 1/2"H x 11 1/2"W.  The best I can tell you about it is, it's an old box, which people seem to collect, but whether it was a stage coach box or not, I'm not positive.  Take a look at the pictures, and see what you think.  According to my research some of these old boxes, like candle boxes, and stagecoach sell for pretty big bucks, but I know next to nothing about them otherwise.  This was purchased from a man that owned an Antique store for years, and recently closed.  He said they are stage coach boxes, so that's what I'm going by.♦My husband and I own and operate an Antique Mall.
