Description
“Ula” Hand Crafted Carved Throwing Club Created from Native Hardwood on the Island of Fiji Circa Late 19th Century 17 inches (43 cm) long x 4 inches (10cm) club head diameter Weight 1 pound 4 ounces (.6 Kilo) Condition: The club is complete without evidence of repair; however, the head shows several cracks, (see photos). One of the splits has lost some material. Description – This club has a nice aged patina, and good form and age. I was advised that it was collected in a San Mateo, California estate, but no collection history comes with it. The photo of the 19th century Fiji chief, Chief Ratu Epeli Vakacaracara from the Victoria Museum in Australia (not included in this auction) shows a club similar to this one. Shipping can be combined on multiple items if feasible. Satisfaction is guaranteed. This item is guaranteed to be authentic and in the condition described. This auction is presented by Jerry Weisberg Tribal Antiques, trading in Native American, tribal and ethnographic art, crafts and artifacts since 1973.
