See more about 'Set 6 Sterling Silver Fruit Knives/Forks Sheffield 1901' Description This is a high quality set of silver bladed and tined fruit or pastry knives and forks, all hallmarked with Sheffield 1901 hallmarks, maker JYC. Even the ferrules and butt caps to the handles are hallmarked individually. The total weight is 394 grams, probably about half of that is the solid mother of pearl handles, leaving about 200 grams of silver. The knives are 8 inches long, forks, 6 1/2 inches. The condition is excellent as you might expect from a set that was obviously kept only for use on special occasions. Do not wash these in a dishwasher, the material joining handle to blade softens at near boiling water temperatures.
