The artifact was used thousands of years ago to chop blocks of ice to make igloos. Ice axes were also used to cut blubber. The wooden stand is made of cocobola and mammoth ivory.The title of the piece is "High Tide". The size of the ivory without stand is 7" height by 3 3/8" width by 1" depth.Bass Harbor Light is a big attraction in Maine. It is famous for it's rocks.
