I'm not much of a sailor, obviously.It's solid brass, about 7" tall, with a 4.5" diameter base. The oval opening is about 3" x 5". I'm guessing it weighs close to 5 lbs. The inside is painted with a verdis-gris finish.I bought this about 20 years ago at an antique shop thinking I would do something interesting with it, but, as you can see, I never did.
