Besides being a superbly balanced and effective weapon, the kris was also a key symbol of a man's status/rank in society.  Item on auction is this gorgeous kris keris sword from the Maranao's of Lanao. Pommel is made from carabao (water buffalo) bone. Handle is wrapped with plated silver bands. Blade is is a beauty. Still very sharp and solid. Lamination lines also evident on close up pics. Item measures 27.50in. overall with scabbard. Handle with pommel is 5.00in while blade alone is 21.95in. A gorgeous piece to add to your sword collection.
