ITALIAN Crystal CHANDELIER Antique - Candles, Stars Crystals & Turquoise accents   This elegant antique chandelier was discovered in Northern Italy. The piece features a wonderful arrangement of strung crystals forming a central basket shape, accented at the top, central and base with bands of embossed and gilded bronze. The elegant shape creates a stunning silhouette. From the center, 6 candle arms emerge, each capped with an old turquoise colored glass bobeche, just as found. The effect is charming and delightful. From the top spring a series of crystal stars, strands of crystals swag between.   This marvelous antique chandelier dates from the end of the 19th C. (c. 1890). Intended as a candle lighted chandelier, the piece has been updated with the installation of several petite electric lights, installed around the central bronze band. These discreet bulbs provide additional lighting. The piece may be installed as an electrical fixture, and/or used with the traditional wax candles. The chandelier is in wonderful condition for a fixture of this period. The piece has been professionally cleaned, and electrified. The wiring and sockets are new and installed to European specifications.
