Description
180 VINTAGE ART DECO STYLE SOLID GLASS BLOCKS/BRICKS. The people I got these from said they came from an Art Deco building somewhere in Maryland I have no way to verify that. The backs were originally covered with gold leaf and most of them have some of it still intact but it is scratched or missing. They all still have a golden tint when the sun hits them and the is a faint "finger print" impression on the bottom apparently from the mold they were poured in. I have examined almost all of them and can find no manufactures mark of any kind on any of them so can not provide any more detail on their origin. If anyone has any knowledge of this type blocks I would love to hear about them. There are at least 180 blocks in excellent condition (remember they could be 75 to 100 years old) and another 20 - 25 chipped, broken or cut blocks. The dimensios are: 2 5/8" thick X 5" wide X 10 1/4" long. The winning bidder will pay for the number of good blocks and I will throw in the others for the same price. Each block weighs 11.2 lbs so there is an approximate weight of 2,200 pounds. Do the weight an bulk I will not be able to ship them so the are PICK UP only. I moved them from New York City to North Carolina in my F150 with no problem. A $500 deposit will be due with in 24 hours of the end of the bidding. The balance will be due at time of pick up when we due an accurate count of the blocks at loading. These would be dynamite worked into a Craftsman, Mission or Art Deco style home, possibly as a shower surround or privacy wall. I thought of an outdoor shower but was voted down by the 'better half.'. Please let me know if you need additional pictures and I will take what ever you want. Also feel free to ask questions either on eBAY or my cell, 917 318-2056. Good Luck!
