Sissons / Bell Mark Sheffield   A remarkable set of 6 heavy silver plated stacking trays in graduated sizes ranging from about 20'' to 8.'' Beautiful traditional design of oak leaf and acorn in three bands on the tray centers. The inside rim is decorated with raised beads and one of stylized tulips. The outside rim is applied leaf and shell (see photos). No monograms. The largest, bottom tray is footed.    An impressive set to say the least, weighing almost 19 pounds!   All except one are marked with the bell in oval mark of William and George Sissons, Sheffield, and later of Bell Mark Sheffield, an American company which bought Sissons in 1940.   The second largest tray has a different mark (shown below), two shields flanking a wreath. Although it has a different mark, the trays are identical in design.   I have lots of photos and would be happy to email them to you for closer inspection.   CONDITION: Very good. Some scratches from use and storage. Excellent detail and very little wear. The middle-sized (15'') tray has some silver loss and could easily be repaired, shown in photo below. The smallest tray has a small round scratch (see photo, small pin-head size). No bends or dents. Tray backs are clean and in excellent condition. Feet on the largest tray are tight and sturdy, no wobbles. Very little to no tarnish; stored in Pacific cloth over the years....no harsh chemicals! I haven't polished them.
