Description
Redware Penny Bank - Orange - 19th century Here is a nice mid-19th century penny bank of redware modeled as an orange. It has been painted as would be expected for a Pennsylvania piece of this type and period. These were meant to be broken open after being filled with coins so only a fraction of the many thousands of redware banks that were produced survive today. This example is in perfect condition other than two small very old chips at the coin slot. The size is 3 1/8" in diameter. I will be continuing to trim down my collection of pottery penny banks over the next several months. Thank you for your interest. 229ODD Questions and Email Communications We encourage you to ask any and all questions regarding an auction item prior to placing your first bid on it. We are more than happy to provide you with any additional photos as needed, or elaborate on any descriptions that might help you in your decision process. If you want us to email you additional photos, please provide us with your actual direct email address in order that we can email you directly with the additional photos sent as attachments to our response. Shipping and Insurance We normally ship by Priority Mail and you can see in advance the actual shipping charge to your location by simply clicking on the Shipping Calculator button at the beginning of the listing. The charge seen there is based on the packaged weight of the item and your delivery zip code. Insurance is extra if desired, and must be included with your payment according to the following USPS insurance fee schedule: $50 max ($1.70), $100 max ($2.15), $200 max ($2.60), $300 max ($4.60), then an additional $0.95 per $100 up to $5,000 coverage. Please note that the above quoted postal rates only apply to shipments within the USA. Auction purchases may be combined to save on shipping costs, just ask us to quote you the combined shipping cost amount if you were successful on more than one of our auction items. Payments We accept payment by PayPal, money order, and personal check. Our mailing address will be provided within the invoice sent to you following the auction close. Payment by personal checks in a high amount may be delayed for check clearance if the purchaser has limited ebay feedback. Guarantee of Originality and Condition as Described We guarantee that all of our items are “as described” in the listing regarding the item’s age, general overall condition, and also as shown by the accompanying photos within the listing. Should an item not be “significantly” as described, it may be returned to us for a full refund of the purchase price and the shipping you had paid to receive it. Please note that all of our items are antique, and as such will display appropriate evidence of age and use to varying degrees. We are not able to make note of every single possible rub, scrape, scratch, nick, discoloration area, etc. These more minor evidences of age are expected, and are not considered significant defects, and are even desirable to find on an antique piece as proof of its correct age. We will do our best to make note of anything significant within the description, or that might be difficult to see in the photos, so please read our entire description and look closely at all images provided to get a full understanding of that item’s condition and appearance. Note: Returns cannot be accepted for a change of heart, which is also known as “buyer’s remorse”. Please be sure beforehand that you want the item and are willing to pay your bid price if you are the successful bidder. It is against ebay rules not to complete an ebay transaction and is also unfair to other bidders that had wanted the item and had placed bids on it. Colors Depicted in Photos There are always color variations due to lighting, the item’s particular surface reflectivity, different display monitors, and viewer controlled display monitor settings. Therefore we cannot guarantee that the exact color or hue which you see on your own particular monitor will exactly match the color of the item in hand. Thank you We thank you for all of your interest in our auctions and our antique items. We hope that once you have had some experience purchasing from us you that will discover that we are both knowledgeable and trusted sellers of very genuine antiques.
