Also included is a reprodution decorative cast keep and a reclaimed key. The casing is made from steel and still retains most of its paintwork. Can be left as is, polished or repainted.  The bolt and latch are made from brass. On the case there is a lovely brass escutcheon in the shape of a shield and ring around the spindle socket. The lock has been renovated, cleaned and lubricated. The latch is very unusual in that instead of going in and out parrellel to the case like most latches, it drops down into the case. In addition you have to turn the knob (not included) to the right in order for the latch to go back into the case fully and clear the keep. Stamped on the edge of the case is "PATENT" but I can not see a manufacturers name.
