Description
This is my rendition of the RINGLE an American built Baltimore clipper, topmast schooner, that Jack Aubrey won from his friend Heneage Dunas in Patrick O'Brian's novel "The Commodore". The Ringle is the tender for the HMS SURPRISE and the HMS BELLONA. This lovely model is SCRATCH BUILT, double plank on frame construction, the woods used are WALNUT, MAPLE, FIR, ROSEWOOD & MORADILLO. The sails are hand sewn with boltropes, the hull is copper plated and all brass fittings and rigging are accurate. The ships bell and all cannons are hand turned and the model sits on a hand carved WALNUT base. This is just one of my fine models you can find at EXCELSIOR MARITIME MODELS, web site of Bruce Forster, master shipbuilder. I specialize in building the ships from the Patrick O'Brian novels. FOR THIS AUCTION ONLY-FREE SHIPPING thats a $200.00 savings! Scale: 1:40 Dimensions: 20" x 27" PLEASE VISIT www.excelsiormaritime.com
