Description
33" Tall Cut Glass Signed Crystal Prism Table Lamp This auction is for a gorgeous antique American brilliant cut glass (NOT pressed) prism table lamp.  It is in excellent condition .The silverplate has discolored in places.  This is not really that noticeable and the lamp's beauty more than makes up for it.  All of the prisms are there and in very good condition too.  It is signed on the base at the top near the thumb print design that goes around it.  There are different designs such as the honeycomb and star that make this a really remarkable lamp. It is signed Gunderson of the Pairpoint-Gunderson Company in New Bedford, MA.. Robert Gunderson stopped producing items in 1950 so lamp at least over 50 years old but most likely older as this style would not have been popular then. I would say more likely from the 1920's or early 30's since it was not made for oil and definitely an electric lamp (the top part attests to that because it does not have a hole but is enclosed)..   The lamp measures approximately 33" tall and there is one bulb in the top part.  I am charging $65 to ship within continental U.S. due to the fact that it is a heavy piece and will require extensive packing so that it arrives intact and also insurance costs.  This is one gorgeous lamp and would look sensational in a Victorian decor.  I can see no damage to any of the glass but this is so intricate that it is possible there might be a flea bite here and there but nothing major I guarantee it.  I have searched all over the internet and cannot find one like this one (the shape of the top, the size, the patterns, the fact that it is a signed Gunderson) and that indicates to me that this is a rare item in about as good a condition as you are going to find.  SORRY BUT I CANNOT SHIP OVERSEAS ON THIS ITEM AND YOU MUST HAVE A CONFIRMED ADDRESS ON PAYPAL.
