Description
A vintage mirror lamp by the Bauhaus designer Wilhelm Wagenfeld for Lindner, 1955Opaque glass and porcelain. White tapered cylindrical form on right angle bracket with pull switch.Professor Wagenfeld saw the lamps he designed for Lindner as the embodiment of his design ethos, and constantly refined them from their original conception in the mid-1950s. He believed that the marriage of functionality and attractiveness in simple everyday objects had to be seamless, "because it must be possible for any use to be beautiful; otherwise objects fail in their purpose" (attrib. see ref. below p. 78).Marked with model no. 6067.About 15 cms (6 inches ) high.In extremely good vintage condition. Please see note concerning vintage electrical items below.See Wilhelm Wagenfeld 1900-1990, Ed. Beate Manske, Hatje Cantz (2000), page 79, plate 17 for an illustration. © Text and photographs by room_606. So please click the link to my shop above and browse the category menu on the left. NEW! Now you can sign up for a regular e-mail bulletin detailing my latest finds and offers by adding me to your list of favourite sellers. The e-mail is free, eBay system generated (so your e-mail address remains private) and you can unsubscribe at any time. Payment and PostagePaypal is accepted and I do not add a surcharge to cover their fees. UK buyers only may also pay by cheque or postal order. If it's a cheque, please allow 7 to 10 days for it to clear. It may be possible for overseas customers to pay by another means, such as bank transfer, by prior arrangement only.Non-paymentAll non-paying bidders are, without exception, reported to eBay. This is not for the sake of being vindictive, but because eBay charges retrospective fees calculated on the actual sale price of items and this money needs to be retrieved. Believe me it is becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet on here as it is! Thank you for your understanding. Please refer to eBay's policy on non-payment for more information, including its ramifications for the bidder. If you have any doubts, please do ask before bidding.Condition of itemsPlease note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique objects and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Please be assured that I always endeavour to offer the most accurate description possible of the item's condition and take multiple illustrative photographs. Vintage electrical itemsUnless explicitly stated otherwise in the description, vintage electrical items are always sold in their original condition so should always be safety checked by a qualified electrician (in the country of intended use) before use. ReturnsReturns may be made, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement only, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason. I'm afraid that buyer's remorse does not qualify and the cost of return postage is not included in any refund. Please don't hesitate to e-mail me to ask any questions not covered above; I always answer as quickly as possible. Thanks very much for taking the time to read this and best of luck bidding!
