Signed: "R. & J. Beck. London. Universal Microscope. 5041" cast into top of 5.3" diameter base.. Circa mid-19th century. Nickel plated fusee chain drive course adjustment. Unique secondary gear drive for fine adjustment. Double objective nosepiece. Square body tube. Transverse tilt with locking screw. 1.25" diameter concave mirror swlngs on post. Swing-out sub stage stop. Spring loaded slide holder. 2.75" wide stage. 1.3" diameter ball joint mounted bullseye secured to left side of stage, Extends from 11.25" to 13". Accessories include 2 objectives, 3 unmarked, well patinated eyepieces of different magnifications, a spacer tube for higher magnifications, a well made accessory box containing a camera lucida eyepiece, a turned wood box containing four glass filters, a pillbox containing round and rectangular cover glasses and a paper box of diatomaceous earth, brass forceps, a stage mounting forceps  and assorted brushes. Housed in a fitted mahogany case, 12.5" high x 6.8" wide x 6.3: deep. Has lock but no key, All brass hardware. Shipping weight 12 pounds from mail code 90066. Ship worldwide.
