View More CANADA Maps in My EBay Store Printed in 1888, this auction is for FOUR beautiful, 120-year-old color maps of the Canadian Province of Quebec. Each measures about 21 1/2 by 13 1/2 inches (about 56 by 34 cm.), and is in Very Good condition. They contain a huge amount of detail, topographical (mountains, rivers, elevations, drainage, etc.), as well as counties, cities and villages, routes of old railroads and more. Given the huge scale, these maps are the largest of this province from the 19th Century that you are likely to encounter. Terrain elevations and drainage on this map are indicated with hachures, as was customary in 19th century cartography. These are guaranteed genuine antique maps!They complete with certificate of authenticity documenting source, maker and date of printing. Useful for genealogy or historical research, not to mention being highly decorative, each map was printed on a single sheet of stock, hinged in the center, and bound whole in an antique book on the hinge. There are no marks or stains. The reverse gives geographical and historical descriptions of Canada and Ontario. HIGHLY SUITABLE FOR FRAMING! They would look great hung in a group in your office, den, library or study, or even more formal setting such as living room. Also great for educational settings such as classroom or home school.
