Description
This auction is for a Packard Pump organ and a stool. It is 78” tall (6’ 6”) x 50” (4’ 2”) wide. The 28” top is screwed on so it can be removed for handling. Also included is an adjustable stool. It has a music rack in the center that lifts up so that you can store music behind it. On either are places for kerosene lamps. Knee pedals fold up in the center under the keyboard. There are handles on the sides to help lift it. It is stamped in the center over the keys, Packard Organ, Fort Wayne, Ind., USA. There are 11 stops. Starting left to right, they say: Bass Coupler, Viola 4 ft., Violina 4 ft., Diapason 8 ft.,Dulcet Bass 8 ft, Vox Gramana, Dulcet Treble 8 ft., Melodia 8 feet, Celestine 8 ft. Celeste 8 ft. and Treble Coupler. The back opens. The numbers I found were 51297 on the top and the basic organ, ST 73 is stamped in the wood. The number 31682 is also stamped in the wood and a BB.WP Bender is stamped on the back. The straps on the pedals have been replaced. There is new fabric on the pedals and the seat of the stool has been covered with the same fabric. The original horsehair is still under the new fabric. There are a few places where the finish shows wear. The upper range does not play. It is believed that a few reeds are chipped. This has always been on an inside wall and the house has a humidifier. This has been in a piano teacher’s family for many years. She is downsizing and needs it to find a good home. This organ is in western NY State near Buffalo. It would have to be picked up. It could be stored for a short time.
