She is hand stitched from old soft cotton cloth. Kate is stuffed with sawdust. Kate holds her toy Bear. He has been her loyal companion since she was a baby. Bear has been very well loved and he does show it! Bear is hand stitched from old cloth in 5 sections. His ears, nose, belly and paws are accented with old brown wool. He has lots of "wear", his ear is torn and his stuffing is showing in places. Kate has a "jumper" sewn from early oatmeal coloured cotton. Her blouse and apron are a Beautiful 19c. brown calico. I have made a few necessary repairs with other early fabrics. Kate measures 13-1/2 inches tall and has very delicately penciled features.
