The mask is damaged as seen in the pictures, it is chipped in several areas but it is intact. The mask was evaluated by Dr. Federiko Barrera Monge - V.P. Board of Directors Archeologist of Puerto Rico. Dr. Federiko did not care to speculate as to wether it is made of Jade or Marble without a more "thorough examination". For this item to be certified the cost would be an additional $1,500.00. A silmilar mask was sold as lot 14 on May 16th, 2008 at the well known Sothebys auction house for the sum of $481,000.00. Of course it was in mint condition. The mask is 7.5 inches wide and about 9.5 inches tall. It is very heavy. This is truly a great opportunity for an astute collector to acquire a rarity of this calibre for what I'm sure will end up being a ridiculously low price, relatively speaking.
