Description
Figure seated on a stool and wearing knee bands and a lion cloth, and adorned with nose plug and necklace, his right arm resting across the knees, and left holding a small vessel up close to the face. The main interest with this figure is the headdress with the animal embedded in it. The headdress is made up of a front and two side panals, the front has the very feirce animal head protruding from it with teeth bared and large tonge sticking out and eyes bulging, each side panal has a hind leg protruding, this is held in place on the figure by a chin strap. Good remains of green and red pigments. Large at 8 1/4" high left hand reattached, a few chips, but otherwise intact.
