Besides being a superbly balanced and effective weapon, the kris was also a key symbol of a man's status/rank in society.  Item on auction is this gorgeous kris keris sword from the Maranao's of Lanao. Pommel is made from banati wood with cockatoo design. Handle is wrapped with plated silver bands and braided copper wire. Blade is very solid and razor sharp. Lamination lines are also evident on the  blade as shown on the pics below.  Item measures 32.20in. overall while blade alone is 24.87in. A gorgeous piece to add to your sword collection.
