They lived in Jalisco, Mexico (where my mother still resides) for almost 50 years. My late father was a well known writer, artist and sculptor and was keenly interested in the culture in terms of artistic endeavors and, especially, in the antiquities and assisted in artifact display, mounting and lighting design at a museum in Jalisco. My parents went on many archeological excursions into mainly western regions and personally found many items in their collection, although many were purchased as well. ******************************************************************************************* Authentic Pre-Columbian Figurine. Western Mexico. SEATED MALE FIGURE Approximate measurements: 5" Tall x 3.75" Wide x 2" Deep. Weighs 8.2 oz. Legs are missing at the knees as he was probably sitting more or less in a squatting position with his feet  planted on the ground. This piece is beautifully intact with no visible cracks, repair or restoration noted (unless it is done so well as to not be detectable!).  Please view photographs very carefully.  The original rust and some black colored paint is still visible.   Please ask questions before you bid.  You may bid with confidence that this item is authentic.  However, because this may be an issue, the winning bidder will have option of 10 days to verify authenticity by a third party.
