Beautiful cloaked maiden turning shyly away from the fire with a winged putto warming himself. Extremely heavy bronze, finely cast with terrific detail. Circa 1800’s. Gilt is worn. No attempt has been made to polish or otherwise remove the existing patina. Excellent original condition. There are no cracks or repairs that we can see. We can find no maker’s marks. However, less important chenets have sold for nearly three times the asking price. 21” tall X 12” X 9”.
