SILVER CANDLESTICKS MARKED 835 SILVER' Description For your consideration we are pleased to offer fresh out of a local estate this Pair of German vintage Silver candlesticks marked .835 silver, factory marked with a crescent moon, then crown, then .835, then prancing lion, circa 1890.  This pair is hollow and thick, it is not weighted anywhere except on the bottom which only covers about 3/16 Inch filler, the rest is silver.  They weigh in at 515 Pennyweight or 25.75 Ounces, or 802 Grams for the pair.  They measure 7 1/2 Inches tall are double candlesticks and measure 10 1/2 Inches across.  Both are marked.  They come to us unpolished in original finish and we leave that alone for you to decide to polish or not.  The stamp is the Gebrieder Deyhle Company from Schwabisch Gmund Germany reknown for their Gold and Silver working.  My guess is that approximately 75% of the total weight is Silver but this really should not matter when it comes to a great pair of vintage sticks like these with no dents at all, the design is simple very Edwardian to Art Deco type.  A very nice rarely seen and with our low low opening bid and No Reserve below scrap we let this pair go.
