Warner, Higgins and Beers published this atlas in 1873. There is spine damage across the entire spine from age and use, and there is no water damage. The canvas on the cover is torn where the title is centered. Both the front and back cover, along with the first page are separated from the rest of the atlas. Although those are separated, all other pages are connected by the original binding and as far as I can tell there are no missing maps. The only separated page in the middle of the book has an “in memoriam” 2-page section of John Irwin’s property and accomplishments. The second of this two page set looks like it may have been cut out at some point, but it may also just be the way the page was bent over during binding. The townships that are mapped in this atlas are: -Prairie Creek -Orvil -Eminence -City of Atlanta -Oran -East Lincoln -West Lincoln -Sheridan (w/ Hartsburg/ Emden) -Corwin (w/ Middletown/ San Jose) -Broadwell -Chester -Aetna -Laenna -Mt. Pulaski (2-Page) -Altanta and Elkhart (2-Page) -Hulbut and Lake Fork -City of Lincoln (2-Page with Sketches of the High School and University) -Williams -A political and geologic map of the state of Illinois. There are some thumbprints and tears on the maps, but none large or bad enough to ruin any of them. Most towns in the atlas are accompanied by population records, political records and many sketches of property, businesses and livestock.
