S ... ... Fili ... An ...  Cremone fecit anno 17 ... *TS* (1739 or 1779 ? )    Please scroll down to see all detailed photos below ! Very well and rare crafted instrument, with accurately worked inlay purfling and finely carved scroll. The violin shows several masterly executed repairs and surely some marks of generations of use in it´s beautiful old amber original varnish. E.g. the right C has been eating up over decades by the bow. Looking with a dentist mirror inside the body, you see that all old repaired cracks are under-laid with cleats - as well as the middle seam of the back. The scroll has been masterly grafted to the neck. The table is finely grained spruce and the back - as well as the neck and ribs - maple. Pegs (fitting well - with tiny mother-of-pearl inlays), fingerboard and tail piece (mounted with 1 fine tuner/adjuster) are ebony. It has gut strings mounted. Very interesting violin with nice sound - rare collectible! Please see all detailed photos below.  Measures: total 59 cm / 23.22”, body 35,7 cm / 14.05”, vibrating chord length 32,8 cm / 12.91”.
