Description
This is a fabulous 2 Station Barbershop Back Bar, it has been restored and refinished in our workshop. (You can be sure when you purchase from our store you are getting top of the line refinishing and restoration.) It was made by August Kern Barber Supply Co., St. Louis, MO 1890's to 1910. Note the handsome quarter sawn oak columns and the ornately carved crown. Most of this bar is original, however one of the cabinets had to be re-constructed and the top crown is partly new construction. The light fixtures are not original to the bar, they are comprised of new canopy with old shade holders and old slag glass shades. The slag glass in the cabinets are new replacements. The round beveled mirrors in the crown have been re-silvered. The knobs and key hole covers are all new replacements. The slag glass panels in the cabinets are easily removed, they can be changed to whatever color one desires. This bar measures 8 ft. 3-1/2" tall, the depth of the marble is 14-1/2" deep, and it is 10 ft. 3" long. This is truly a FABULOUS piece, only the second one I have had in 25 years of business. It comes apart in several pieces for easier shipping. We are happy to get you a shipping quote upon receiving your city, state and zip code. The shippers will also put it together for a fee. If you live fairly close to Missouri, it is possible that our refinishers could ship and assemble it. Item ID: furn186 I have other fine antique furniture listed, including restored lighting and shades currently listed., I am happy to combine shipping. We are currently restoring a FABULOUS 18 ft. Oak Brunswick Back Bar and Front Bar. It's among the finest you will see and has a rich history... We hope to have it up for sale by or before end of the year...keep watching! Let me know if you have interest and I will be happy to send a courtesy email when it's ready to view. We have been the Antiques and Restoration Business for over 25 years, you can rest assured that our merchandise is as we say it is, our refinishers are masters at their job..... references gladly given.
