Description
A triple plant stand by Mathieu Matégot, 1956 Black enamelled bent metal frame with complete with three removeable painted perforated metal plant pot holders finished in the primary colours white, yellow and red. Approximate size: About 99 cm in height and 49 cm in width. Condition: The plant stand is in excellent vintage used condition with only minor surface signs of age and use and no damages. The perforated metal pot holders are in very good used condition with some expected surface corrosion to the inside of the bases. This corrosion is an inevitable consequence of use but does not impact on the structural intergrety of the pot holders. In other words they remain in perfectly functional condition. Please see the pictures I have provided.  References: See Mathieu Mategot, P. Jousse & C. Mondineu, Jousse Entreprise Editions, 2003 for illustrations of several very similar examples, particularly plate 191 in the Photographic Archive section. See also the auction catalogue of Wright (Chicago, USA), Modern Design, 2004-03-28, Lot number 249. This is a stunning piece of authentic and functional 1950s French modernism and a truly fabulous and probably never-to-be-repeated find. It would compliment any Modernist or French Art Deco inspired interior and display seamlessly alongside works by Mategot's French contemporaries such as Robert Mallet-Stevens, Eileen Gray, Pierre Chareau, Le Corbusier, Charlotte Alix, Louis Sognot, Rene Herbst, Jean Puiforcat, Jean Royére, Serge Mouille, Louis Adnet and Charlotte Perriand among others. Don't miss this opportunity. porte-pots cache-pots rigitulle perforé At the time of writing I still have a copy of the aforementioned scarce Mategot reference by Jousse and Mondineu available in a separate listing. Please click on my store logo or other items link, or ask if you cannot see it.PLEASE NOTE that, because of its size and weight, this will be an expensive item to ship internationally. The shipping prices shown below are calcuated at cost using the Royal Mail's online pricing tool and the cheapest available with tracking. Because of the way Paypal operates its Buyer and Seller Protection Programs full tracking is now absolutely essential for all shipments of value. © Text and photographs by room_606. It may be possible for overseas customers to pay by sanother means such as bank transfer by prior arrangement only. All buyers please make contact within 3 days of auction. Payment is required within 7 days. Non-paymentAll non-paying bidders are, without exception, reported to eBay. This is not for the sake of being vindictive, but because eBay charges retrospective fees calculated on the actual sale price of items and this money needs to be retrieved. Believe me it is becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet on here as it is! Thank you for your understanding. Please refer to eBay's policy on non-payment for more information, including its ramifications for the bidder. If you have any doubts, please do ask before bidding.Condition of itemsPlease note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique objects and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Please be assured that I always endeavour to offer the most accurate description possible of the item's condition and take multiple illustrative photographs. Vintage electrical itemsUnless explicitly stated otherwise in the description, vintage electrical items are always sold in their original condition so should always be safety checked by a qualified electrician (in the country of intended use) before use. ReturnsReturns may be made, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement only, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason. I'm afraid that straightforward buyer's remorse does not qualify and the cost of return postage is not included in any refund. Thanks very much for taking the time to read this. If there is anything I haven't covered please don't hesitate to contact me.
