Miguel Covarrubias (1904-1957) PICTORIAL MAP OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Photo-Offset Print Mounted on Board Issued by American Associated Artists, New York, 1942 Picture Size: 25 x 36 inches With Frame: 30 x 41 inches Shipping Size: 34 x 45 x 6 inches Covarrubias brought the sensibility of the 20th-century Mexican muralists to this illustrative pictorial map of United State of America. Conditions: Very antique. Print on board and signed in print. There are 2 small scratches (see below pictures) on print and gold paint on the wood frame is faded and show ages. Taped all over the back of frame but the frame structure is solid and stable. We will consider all and every offers. All pictures were taken from the actual art for this auction and it is to be sold as is. This is consignment item and we are not expert in art dealing; however we are honest and please do not hesitate to contact us for any questions regarding the condition of this item. Miguel Covarrubias- artist, author, ethnologist, and anthropologist - was born in Mexico City in 1904. He moved to New York City in 1923, and became a popular illustrator. He integrated his studies in ethnography and anthropology with his artistic talents in his maps, which he produced for publication and as murals.
