Description
I purchased this fabulous Paris Pharmacy from Lillian Williams, who is well-known in the U.S. and Europe for her unusual and gorgeous French antiques.   I believe it to be approximately ca. 1875.   There are 4 pieces included:    The longer display unit is:   Base unit:   12'10" long x 25 1'2 " tall x 13" deep.   The top which fits on this base and contains shelving is 12'8" long x 51" tall x 10 1/2 " deep including the crown which is 100" long x 22" tall x 61/2 " deep.   The end unit which connects to the main display unit in an "L" shaped fashion is 42" long x 38 1'2 " tall x 13" deep.  A separate counter which would have been used as a check-out or cashier's station or work space and has the mirror and a display shelf in the front is 110" long x 53" tall x 31" deep.   There are multiple tiny  drawers for labels in the top portion and larger drawers in the base.   The vitrine is lovely and measures 76" tall x 46" wide x 14" deep.   There is a small removeable lovely little cabinet which sits on the L  portion of the long display unit.  The sign which reads Pharmacy Du Lyon is 13" long x 10" tall x 2" deep.   I paid $25,000 for this Pharmacy in 1993 and have used it as display in my cosmetic dermatology practice/spa.     I have moved the practice and my new office can no longer accomodate the pharmacy.   I hate to part with this but would love to see it put to use in a spa or clinic or even a fabulous Kitchen.    It is truly a work of art that my patients have admired over the years.   There are many of the original French labels that the chemists and pharmacists used for their medications and herbal treatments.  The original green paint and crown molding has been glazed over.   There are some missing knobs and needed door repairs in the base of the longer piece, but overall this piece is in remarkably good condition given the age and use it has seen.     This is truly an amazing buy for an historic and gorgeous piece from 1800s Paris.  Shipping is the buyer's responsibility.
