This roller was used as working Japanese fishing float. It is in beachcombed condition with the normal wear of working fishing floats that have spent their life at sea. There are no cracks or chips in this rolling pin except for the inevitable tiny chips on the seal button edge. It is made with heavy thick glass with impurities, inclusions and bubbles from the old Japanese manufacturing technique. The integrity of this float is very sound.It is unusual to find NEAR MINI JUMBO rolling pins and even more uncommon to find a rolling pin with FULL kanji symbols on the seal. It has clear Kawaguchi Kanji symbols on the seal. There is at least one full symbol and other partial symbols. This is mark #10 in Walt Pich's GLASS BALL float reference book. The symbol means Rivermouth. The box is the mouth and the lines are the river.
