JACOBS VINTAGE RADIAL AIRCRAFT ENGINE WALL DISPLAY Start Price USD 5,200.00 Current Price USD 5,200.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Wednesday, October 08, 2008 End Time Monday, October 13, 2008 Location Guthrie, Oklahoma See more about 'JACOBS VINTAGE RADIAL AIRCRAFT ENGINE WALL DISPLAY' Description JACOBS VINTAGE RADIAL AIRCRAFT ENGINE WALL DISPLAY   This is the “Emerging Engine”; a wall mounted 1930s authentic Jacobs radial engine built by Radial Classics, Inc. that has been displayed at the Biplane Expo, Sun ‘n Fun, and Oshkosh.  This engine model powered many of the aircraft from the Golden Age of Aviation, from the Beech Staggerwing, Howard DGA, Boeing Stearman, Cessna 195, to many models of Waco biplanes.    As you can see from the photos, this engine has been cut in two so that it now has a front section and a rear section.  This was done so that the front half of the engine could be mounted on a wall with the rear section mounted on the opposite side of the same wall.  The effect produced is of the engine emerging through the wall, hence its name “The Emerging Engine”.  Since there are no internal engine parts, each engine half weighs only 100 lbs. and can be mounted on almost any wall with the hangars that are supplied with the display.   All engine cases and cylinders were painted with the very durable, high gloss PPG Concept paint.  The exhaust system is polished stainless steel and the push rods & ignition harness are chromed.  The rear of the engine is fitted with magnetos and a carburetor.  The propeller is a 90” Sensenich display prop.  The engine is 45” in diameter and each section stands off from the wall roughly 12”.   The retail price of this display is $10,900 and this is the price at which they were sold this year at the air shows.  The opening bid on this display is half of that retail price.   We get excellent discounts (75% off list) from several motor freight companies and are happy to pass that savings along to the high bidder.  Be sure to check out our other auctions where, in addition to other radial engine furniture and displays, we have serviceable vintage aircraft parts.  Thanks for looking!   Place a Bid!
