Cosmetic markings are found in areas by the ears, foreheads, eyes and cheeks, mouth, temples. The hairstyle is flat and covering of charcoal and red painting. This face mask is completed with a large colorful costume Prominent among the Northern Igbo, these masks represent a delicate beauty and feminine essence. Men of middle rank in the secret society dance these masks, known as "Agbogho Mmwo." They dance at the beginning of the dry season and at funerals with their elaborate burial ceremonies.
