It was given to my Mother-in-Law by Tom Spackman Sr. when the Slide was dis-mantled in 1990-1991. The Water Slide was the First Water Slide Built at Indiana Beach in 1927! It was moved 3 different times throughout History and it's Final Resting Place was beside the Beach House. When the Toboggan went down the Slide you could hear the "Zing" All the way down the Boardwalk!! I've ridden it myself a couple times ~ Not sure if it was This Particular Sled (#508)!! But growing up here, I've ridden Every Single ride here Quite a Few times :o) My husband and I have decided to part with this piece of Treasure as we are moving and we have no room for it. It has been Well Cared for ~ Always kept dry ~ Sometimes Displayed as Decor in a couple of our homes and when not, Lovingly Stored. It has Only Been Dry Dusted since it was Brought Home by Carol! So it Still has the Beach Feel to it!!And Yes ~ All the Germs that Go With It!!!There are Only 5 of these in Existance today. 2 are with Previous Owners of the Beach ~ 1 is at the White County Historical Society ~1 is with an Unknown Lady that Mr. Spackman cannot remember the name of ~This one makes number 5.There are flaws in the Sled as Seen in the Pics, However, the Sled is Solid as a Rock and Weighs a Whopping 15 pnds. It was In Use when the Ride was Dis-mantled ~ All Parts & Pieces are Original, Meaning, From Indiana Beach ~ The Sled is Numbered #508 ~ Measures 1'6" W X 4'2" T ~ Weighs 15 PndsWhat I Know For Sure about the Water Slide is it was Built in 1927 by Tom's Dad ~ Moved 3 Different Times ~ Dis-Manteled Sometime around 1990-1991 ~ At the Time it was built, it was the Biggest Water Slide in IndianaThis is Also being Advertised in my Local Paper as I feel it is Only Just and Right for ANY and ALL People to have a Chance to Own a Piece of our Local History.
