I have been collecting for almost 50 years and purchased all my items from the most reputable sources but mostly at auction in London. Read our feedback and bid with confidence.   This is an original April 24 1827 dated order “BY HIS EXCELLENCY THE EARL OF DALHOUSIE, G. C. B. Captain General and Governor in Chief of the Province of Lower-Canada, &c. &c. &c.”  “To John Hale, Esquire, Receiver General.”  Partially printed and finished in hand directing the appropriation of 45 pounds for “the relief of insane and infirm persons” with further details and signed by Dalhousie.  It is 12 1/2” x 7 1/2” on laid paper with large water mark of “EDWARD WISE 1824”.   George Ramsay was the ninth Earl of Dalhousie and Governor General of Canada 1820-28 under George IV.   He was one of the most important figures in Canadian history.  We have been unable to find a single other document signed by Dalhousie in his official capacity.  This is literally a page out of the history book of Canada.  Condition is as shown.  ZB4 (2) r   Shipping options: Priority Mail shipping includes full insurance.
